What are these cichlids. We got them in at work and I can't figure out what they are. Labled as Mixed S.A. Cichlids.

Please excuse the quality of these pictures. From my blackberry :/

looks like JD fry to me

Looks like a texas cichlid

kinda looks like carpintis

Yeah texas. Spots look a little too small for carpintis, but it's still small so idk.

Well the first pic, the fish is greyish with a bunch of small black dots, a large black dot on the tail, and his tail is starting to turn a redish tint, also his head sorta comes to a point like a severum instead of more broad like a oscar or JD. The other fish, I thought at first that they were true texas but wasnt sure. Ill try to get more pictures of the first one again tomorrow. I thought it was some kind of uaro

well then sorry i was wrong looked like the fish at my walmart that when i grew out turned out to be jd. i just figured the spangles were blue and turned green with flash but now realize you said blackberry pics. in that case i know its not a jd but still wouldnt have known lol. maybe i should make a run to wally world for a 3 dollar asst cichlid that looks like that..

Its cool :) We all learn this way. Its good to make mistakes. JD's bodies are shaped a little different from these fish, and also the blue and green spangles are placed and shaped differently. :D Its good to learn something new.
