I bought this fish a few months ago, they said it was a red texas. Any pics i find of red texas cichlids look nothing like this..... Its also pairing up w/ a parrotfish if that helps. Any help would def be appreciated.

i bought him from a fish shop, there were only a few in the tank an they said they were red texas, but the guy i talked was just a helper at the shop and i dont think he knew what he was talking about. Ive been to the shop since then an ive seen other red texas that dont look like him either.

looks like a tex x flowerhorn to me, judging by the flowerline, body shape and red on the belly. but truthfully it could even be a b grade red tex or a tex crossed with any red amphilophus species. i like it though, and if he's fertile, you'll have some great offspring with that parrot. assuming he is in fact the male in the pair. :)
