Well, it's definately an african. I can't tell that well from the pic what color it is. How big is it? That will help determine if adult coloration has set in. Just a first guess with nothing more than a dim picture I'm going to say it's a red zebra but I'm not entirely sure yet. Try and get a brighter pic and a size estimate. It definately looks like a mbuna though.

Thanks guys. Right now he is about half and inch long and a great bright orange color with a reddish blush to their cheeks. I appreciate all of the help, you guys are the best!
At that size I'd definately say it's a red zebra. Very pretty and common species. . . cheap, pretty, and hardy. . . what else you need?
