IN A PLACE
I was having a stressful day so I decided to go to the fish store. Saw this guy in a tank with a bunch of L200's and some discus.

the guy working there told me it was a yellow mango pleco. It is about 5.5" long. Has an albino yellowish body with streaking grey in the fins. The coloring reminds me of the "chubby" L56's that were popular a few years back. Eyes are a dark black. Got a lot darker when put in the bag but returned to a lighter color after going in the qt tank. Also has spots similar to the L128 and L200 species. Its head and mouth look more like a hypotsomous species to me. I got two good pics of its mouth and belly but it is taking forever for my phone to send them to my email--i will post those tomorrow.

Any guesses?

you might have an oddball pleco there.. I've never seen one like that..

Got any better pictures under brighter lighting?

im gonna go out on a limb and say youve got a VERY stressed and maybe somewhat unhealthy L200. BUT, i agree with zerojquan, we need brighter pics.

albino gibb?

Sorry about the cell phone pics. I will take pics later today when the light is on. I didn't want to stress the acclimation. I also don't believe it is a stressed L200 because the color hasn't changed since purchase, it's eyes and belly aren't sunken, and it is already eating zucchini. I am optimistic that this is some sort of oddball. More, higher quality pics to follow :)

Its a L200 (either Baryancistrus demantoides or Hemiancistrus subviridis depending on the membrane between the dorsal and adipose fin) that is or has become leucistic. Ive seen this a couple genera now, from what Ive read it doesn't seem to have any negative health effects and can reverse itself. Nobody seems to know what triggers it yet (in previously healthy animals).
