That looks like a nice Spotted Gar. Im not exactly sure on the specie but it definatly looks like a Spotted. Maybee a Florida Gar, Im not an expert on gar but in sure somebody will chime in that will know. My guess in Spotted Gar though.

I looked at them but couldn't figure it out what determines a Florida from a Spotted?

It's a FL but I understand it is hard to tell the difference between the spotted and FL if you haven't seen very many. You can't go by just their pattern, as I first thought. Nice looking too!
