Found this bug at the grocery store it was about 7" does anyone know what it is???

Ahhhh its a freakin helgramite. They are some weird worms that get giant thorns and wings during certain seasons. These things are super aggressive too. They actually fly towards you to bite you. I hate these things, there usually along rivers. Ive heard they are GREAT for fishing.
Sidenote* It WILL draw blood if it bites you. Be careful. These things are literally MONSTERS of the insect world.

Yep, that's what it is. I see them around here sometimes. They get attracted to my outdoor lights.

I think this species range is mainly located in Eastern North America.
