I had a male OB peacock and ended up buying a female a little later. Well after about a week of being together, she had no tail fin left so he was exhiled back to the LFS that I got him from. I exchanged him for this little guy! Not too sure what he is but he moves waaay too fast and is hard to get a picture with my iphone lol. Him and the female OB get along MUUCH better!
Oh and uh don't mind that ugly little brite green plant thing, it's in there for my ghost shrimp which got eatin' lol.

Thanks! This makes me a bit worried.... "She" hasn't attacked or even looked at my female OB in a bad way.... Yet lol. Hasn't noticed my bala sharks either. I guess time will tell...

Are you sure it is an Auratus? It looks too thin and elongated. It looks like a Julidochromis Ornatus to me.

Can you get us a better pic? How big is it? Julies only get about 3". They can be mean, but stay small.

Auratus get much bigger and much meaner. You would never mistake them in person, but that picture make me think of a Julie.

Nope, deffinately not a julie. Face shape is all wrong. It's deffinately the other one. I can try and get a better pic but theres only so much i can do with an iphone LOL

I think it is a malawi golden cichlid

I was going to say either or, but to me it just looks like a thin Auratus, maybe the pet shop didn't take good care or feed it enough... Altho the second pic (after a day or so of actually eating looks a lot more like my original assumption, Auratus) Still not positive tho...

It's definitly one or the other tho... (a malawi golden cichlid is just another name for the Auratus)
