hey mfk - was wondering what these were? i have 3 of them, this being the smallest - my lfs wasnt able to tell me what sp they are - my guess is ocells but tbh its all a bit confusing for a cichla newb like myself!!!

Definately a peacock bass of some sort. i am not very good with cichlids either. All I know about them is that they grew almost 21/2-3 feet if they have the chance to.
