I would try the ray section

But its hard to id a small ray since there colours are somewhat faded.
to my it looks like a flower or histrix.

Not retic.....Not flower..... It is P. Hystrix...... very stressed/and or sick. It is also very very skinny. Recent import perhaps? You mention it is yours. Is it eating? Is it wild caught?... If so is it quarantined? How long have you had it for? Good luck.

P. Hystrix tend to lighten up when the water is off (although your ray is to the extreme). What are your water parameters? Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, temp, Water Change schedule, filtration, tank size, tank mates, total dissolved solids? Give us more info.

Although you have only asked for an ID (P. Hystrix), I think there is reason to be somewhat concerned.

No reason to worry. The only reason I asked for an ID is that I don't quite trust the lfs and he's a different color than my larger female that I've had for about a year. He's been eating since the first day and he was quarantined for a week at the LFS and here for 2 weeks; treated with Prazi Pro, inspected for anchor worms, etc.
He's in the main tank now, still stressed, but that's not surprising considering what he went through. The female has also gone nuts ever since he came into to the main tank: chewed up 2 other fish already and tries to mess with him. He's fighting for his food and not giving up. :)
The water is fine, ammonia, nitites are 0, nitrates are at 20, but I need them this way to keep the plants. Kh=4, Gh=7.

Thank you. I did get him to eat MP for the first time tonight. He refused it fresh, but took a piece soaked in black worms. That's a major breakthrough for me as the female still refuses anything pelleted. She eats black worms, nigh crawlers, krill, shrimp, and reluctantly scallops. When she sees an MP she literally runs away and I never had to nerve to starve her.
