It is a true Hystrix. The reason I called it true is because lots of rays are imported under the Hystrix name and they are another type.
 
Thank you. It was sold as a Hystrix, but you can never be sure these days and it looked a bit different than my female so I wasn't sure.
 
He's tiny, about 2.5-3'' now. The female is 7''. I specifically wanted a smaller male so he doesn't bother her too much. So far it's the other way around. Even since she met him she terrorizes the whole tank: chewed up 2 fish already; fights with him for smallest pieces of food. Overall, she turned into a complete nightmare - reminds me of my first fiancee. :)
