ID Please ?

i found this fish in a local pet store and i raelly liked it , i bought a single fish to keep with my blood parrot,clown loach ,green terror and a silver arowana... i know it is cichlid but i want to know
the name ?
is it american or african ?
can i keep a single fish or it has to be in group?

It's a type of geo, they are south American and they do prefer groups.

thanx to u all ... but still wondering if it is ok to keep this guy by himself ?? because in that shop , i picked the biggest fish in the group which is 6 CM long ... all others are like 3-4 cm ... am afraid if i get more of small ones they will end up as a meal for my arowana... in here this kind of fish is rarely to find

I wouldn't put any geos in with arrowana's. Geos are not aggressive enough to hold their own against such a formidable opponent like an aro. They do like groups though as mentioned.
