ID please

Can anyone ID this guy. picked him up at lfs. The owner had no clue what it is. He said it ate all the smaller fish he had it with. So I figured he would make a good tankmate for my odoe pike of the same size. It bit two large holes in doubled up plastic bags on the way home.
