I saw this catfish few days back at my lfs..wondering what type of catfish is this ? (name etc)...and what is its maximum captive growth ?

Looks like albino walking catfish. If i remember right i think they get 18-24" but dont quote me on it.

They normally reach a foot easily. Sometimes over years reaching 1.5'.

Walking Catfish a.k.a Clarias Batrachus

This is the albino variety for clarias batrachus. In my country, in can weigh up to 1 metre long, but not as big as its relative, African Catfish or Clarias Gariepinus, which can grow twice bigger than that.

Clarias batrachus has sting which is more venomous than clarias gariepinus. But to keep this fish in any aquarium is easier for me. Besides, it eat a lot of foods. It can eat other fish, earthworms, prawns and also pellets. There's black variety of clarias batrachus that you can found in a wild.
