Some species in Pseudobagarius? Hard to tell on my phone but i think i almost bought one of these under the correct name. Think this fish is from russia or somewhere around there very hard to research it on my phone. Do a search for pseudobagarius

Im sort of leaning on TBTB here. Hes 3" more or less. Tiny cat misidentified as a zungaro:( these guys been going around in the markets here. Sad.

Btw, a jau was being sold for around 50 bucks. If i only had the room and knowledge:(

South American native name Zungaro is applied to many large Pimelodids. I met Pseudopimelodus bufonis (another bumblebee cat) being called "zungaro bumblebee catfish" on exporter's lists. This is not what I'd consider a large catfish.

So, not too much surprise a SA BB could come under that name. IMO unusual but not impossible. Also implies it is from SA, not Asia, largely eliminating my second suggestion (barring an indirect transport, mis-ID, etc.).
