Just picked this up as a "Lace Catfish." What type is he? It looks like the ones they sell at petsmart as feather fins. Is he a type of synodontis? Thanks.

Yes, Synodontis eupterus in juvi coloration. Same as feather fin. Lace is used by many sellers erroneously as this is a different species, Synodontis nigrita, albeit similarly colored (but different body proportions, esp. fins) http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/species.php?species_id=89

Eupterus. They grow slow but live long and get big, I've personally seen an 11"r that was probably 20+ years old.
