Hi fellow hobbyists. i have got a friend who has doubts about his arowana. the arowana was sold as super red born in august 2013 and F2. here are 2 pictures of the arowana. please comment and confirm.

Just a guess, but wouldn't there be more red on the scales & a deeper red on the gill plate after a year and a half if it was a "super red". Again just a guess, not much experience id'ing them
 
i have my own opinion which i will let you know later, but i do follow dudefish82.

JayC74, the development of red and gold arowana is very different. i had a red tail golden which was a real beauty and within a year was already shiny :headbang2
 
most reds take 2-3 years to show the potential, and 4 years plus to show the true mature coloration. also depends on diet, lighting, water., etc...many factors., either way, its a red arowana
 
I wouldn't care. That's a stunning fish!
