My buddy just gave me this fish, it was being to aggressive with his other fish and I had a cycled tank ready. He doesn't know what it is and neither do I, thanks in advance

Looks like one of the Lake Victorian cichlids, though I couldn't say which one. Perhaps having a mod move it to the Rift Valley folder might yield an ID?

Agree with darth, looks to be a Lake Victoria species, maybe one of the Xystochomis species.

Looks like astatotilapia burtoni from Lake Victoria . Not 100%sure though,Africans aren't my strong point.

Astatotilapia burtoni is from lake Tanganyika and surrounding rivers. But it's definitely not that.
Looks more like Haplochromis sp. "35 tomato". May or may not be pure.
