i got 4 new pbass for free but idk what what species it is, one of my friend said its a mono and others said its a orino.

maybe these og members can help. I would guess but I would rule out mono due to no black markings. I would rule out orino due to lack of any blue hue in the fins. My guess would be kelberi due to the gold color but they lack spangling they should have at that size. Sorry for not being ,uch help hopefully someone else can weigh in.

I don't think they are orino. There is no gold bordering around the ocellate at this size. Plus orino at this size will have a lot of spangles on the body. My guess is they are either Kelberi or occel bass. Kelberi spangles sometimes can come really late like around 9-10". If you don't have spangles by 9" then it's probably occel. Can I be friend with your friend to get free fish? LoL
It takes a few days to weeks before they settle in. If they are out and about exploring then they are settled.

If you ever need to unload some poly let me know. I'm growing some nice Bahia kels and wild caught kels out lol maybe in due time. Lol
