these are from a video of wild fish in lake Tanganyika. Anyone know the names and if they are available in the hobby?

Hmm,not sure on the top photo but Ctenochromis horei perhaps?....the other fish is some type of Petrochromis.

Yep,I think that is what it is!

Wow. Good call. Did you know that or did you do a search? Either way thanks. What a cool looking fish. Grows to almost 15 inches. Would be a really cool species tank but there isn’t much info about them out there other than they are extremely aggressive.

That Lobochilotes had been on my wish list for decades, but it never seemed to get to where I was at, at the time when I had the space.

I wasn't about to answer the question for you duanes but I highly suspected that that was an easy i.d. for you lol.That name was somewhere in my mind but I couldn't recall it.
I have seen photos of them back when I was keeping Africans but I don't recall seeing them in any shops.....and there were some good shops around here that had great African cichlid seleections back then.
