Anyone know what this may be? Some type of hap for sure. It was sold as a trio but I suppose it could be a hybrid? I’ve kept African Cichlid’s for 25 yrs on and off. I’ve never seen this species before.

Just a guess, IMO he looks like a variety of Placidochromis, maybe "Jalo".
 
Same body shape as placidichromis or maybe protomelas but I’m still not sure. The Jalo reef has more yellow in his fins this guy almost has reddish belly and tail.
 
I have one I bought from PetSmart that looks exactly like him. It appears to be a hybrid between an "Assorted African" and an "Assorted Peacock according to PetSmart...
 
Great I will settle it then. I got him from Gold Aquariums in Calgary, and he resembles Otopharynx heterodon and Trematochromis sp. so I will call him :
“Trematopharynx Goldsii”
