ID please

can anyone id this fish for me, a friend has it and wanted to know what it is.
it came in as a malayan silver shark but its not a bala.

Either a Labeo species or Osteochilus hasseltii is my guess:

thanks Jesse i think the Osteochilus hasseltii as it has the blotch on the caudal penduncle

Yeah i have one of these fish too and it was advertised as a malayan silver shark, i got mine a couple of years ago he,s about 7 in now and iam not sure of the latin name either i think maybe it could be Labiobarbus leptocheila.

I know for definate its not osteochilus hasseltii cus i have 2 big ones of these aswell.
