Bristlenose Pleco. Appears to be a young male.

Don't the males have bristles all over the head ??? Looks more like a female as only has the bristles on the edge of the mouth !!! Only a guess...

The males do get bristles all over but the young males have small ones like an adult female would. Some females don’t even get any. Based on body size, I’m calling it a male. I could be off on scale, but if it’s less than 3 inches, it would be a bit too small for a female to show bristles.

How big is it? It looks much more mature in this photo. Those neons in the background really throw me off in the first pic. If it’s pretty much full grown, I’d be comfortable saying it’s a female.

At only 2.5”, I’d say it’s a male at this point.
