ok im confuse. most of the LFS here call this one the tiger shovel nose

but other people here post pics of TSN here and it looks different.

which is the real TSN and what is the name of this catfish i posted.

im not sure what you mean..... yours looks like all the other TSNs ive ever seen. Now the juvis are different. Bbut they eventually grow into what you have posted.

ifyou are saying that the stripes are much straight and not like Ys
thats the pseudoplatystoma fasciatum
but both pseudoplatystoma fasciatum and pseudoplatystoma tigrinum are TSNs

Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum probably at around 11-14" looking at the pattern. The pattern will break up more and criss-cross on top when he gets a little bigger. The bigger they are the more impressive their patterns get. When really small like 1-3" they can be almost solid black on their back, then it starts to break up as they grow.
 
thats a tiger shovelnose there are many species of TSNs and have different patterns
 
looks like a TSN to me. is it in the same tank as ur gator gar?
