Hes gonna fade, like a fader fh, hell turn orange. Sometimes this happens duemto genetics sometimes bad water quality will cause this, usually if its ressesive genes it will completely fade or almost completely ans by3-4.5". Water quality could cause blocthing orange faded spots at any size

I can show you a pic of small ressesive gene on a non fader fh ifmyou want

Lol Faders are the result of genetics, not water quality...

Bad water quality can also cause a full grown non fader to lose color and have blotching orange spots ive seen it start on fh @ 9" more than once, unless they were just starting to fade really late at a large size after dislpaying perfect coloration for over a year, witch is what I thought. Local malaysian breeder i know told me it was due to water quality or the combo of that and injury, but he could be wrong

Not sugg your quality just relaying info that was supplied to me, my 9" female RD got into a fight with my male when i was trying to breed them, had amazing color her whole lifr never turned dark like a fader, I put her in a 30 to heal filteration wasnt that great and all of her wounds healed orange like a fader, I couldnt understand it as I was under the impression that if it had fader gene she would have started to fade at an earlier age. (My h2o quality) I saw simular blotching on a large guy at a nearby breeder no dark color just normal vibrant reds and pearls all over exept for the blotches like mine, said to the guy guess it has fader genes I have one like this he told me no that it was from water quality cause he had a differnt system on that tank than the rest.....again he could be wrong I took his word for it, when I put mine back into the big tank with a divider wich i shoulda done at first she never faded any further never lost vibrance in color in the unfaded areas, yours is dark like a normal fader gene fh and I assume itsmstill pretty small

Im at work when i get out I will post a couple 2" almost fully faded females i have from a batch, got 4 fully faded from 150 or so, some may still fade as they are still young
