oh okay, cuz i have been having mine 1 yr now and i got at 2" and now hes around 3-4". are these slow growers??? since they are bottom dwellers and algae eaters, i assume they like vegetables. i give him a slice of cucumber occasionally. hes active all the time. so i didnt know that much about him. i got him free when i got my ck.
so any more info i should know about???

They're slow growers. They suck slime coats as they mature. That's always my biggest worry whenever I see them with other large fish. Not a good community fish.
