ID possible of juvenile??

I purchased this Cichla today at the local fish store. The kid who sold it to me said it is the smallest species that grow to one foot. I asked if it was kelberi, and he said thought so but wasn't too convincing. Is it possible to determine species by this exceptionally horrible cell phone pic?

i can assure u that all peacocks can grow over 1ft given that they have the space and food to grow,
