Id problem

Not a monsterfish, but aggressive none the less.
I emptied a friends tank, as he felt he had lost the leisure time needed to care for it properly.

He originally purchased this fish as a butterfly ram, but I could easily see it wasn't. But what is it then?

Beatifull indeed. General color of fins and body is in the orange end of the yellow spectrum, but sadly this didn't come out weel in the pic.

Never heard of that name, but of cause, I haven't dealt with cichlids before.

Edit: Oops! German blue ram = butterfly cichlid = butterfly ram. Though this specimen has absolutely no blue in it's color-pattern.

Its not a butterfly could be a hybrid though whats often sold as butterfly ram is either a hybrid or a short body ram

The golden ram is a hybrid i think its between the german blue ram and bolivian ram

I agree... it looks like a cross between the GBR and a Bolivian ram. It also might be a female IMO based off of my pair of GBR's.

It's just a blue ram, not german blue. German blues are a lot, shall I say, blue-er.
