I got this from a friend yesterday. His fins are bitten and I don't think that they should be this color. I jsut wanted to know what should I do to bring back his color and fix his fins. Thanks in advance!

Looks like a Mono. I would bump up the heat to 88 if it isn't already. Do big W/C weekley about 50%. What size tank is he in? It looks like a 55g. He will need a lot of aireation so I would add a power head and or a air stone. Get those O2 levels up. He should be ok overtime. He looks like he's still eating so thats a good sign. You may want to add a another HOB get one with a HIGH GPH rate if that's all your using for filtration. He is going to need the bio as well as the clean water. The more water you can get clean (GPH) will be better for the Cichla also increasing the water movement in your tank.

It's in a 30L (I think) until I can find room for him. I just did a 50% water change and I added a bubbler. He at a couple feeders and I'm trying to dig out my old Fluval 205 to add some water movement. Thanks for the help man!
