Since I have never seen pictures a full grown gold sajica before was wondering if this could be one or is this a mix?

Could be, I've been doing a little searching for a young group I own of suspected yellow Sajica as well. There is not a lot of information or pictures on the strain Don Conkel introduced in the mid nineties. Fantastic fish by the way, I hope my group grow out as nice. Pictures of my young ones.

Thanks for both responses.

This fish is still in perfect condition considering it's been at the lfs for a few months now. Was very tempted to pick it up but didn't since I'am unsure if it's a gold sajica or mix.

Pure Sajica and great looking.

are sajica in the veija family?

They are more closly related to Convicts.

That is a beautiful fish. I'm growing out a group of four, but pretty sure mine are not yellows. Sajica are a nice size great looking and packed with personailty. What's not to like?

I've never seen a pure male Sajica with out any blue coloration in the operculum most even have blue gular membranes. Maybe you can catch him in a yawn or flaring to see them better.
