ID Snakeheads

I was given a picture and was wondering what kind of snakeheads these were?
I was told either maroliodes or marulius. Is there any way to tell when they're this young? Sorry but this is the best pic i could get.

Marulius will have a vertical black like through the centre of the eyes.
The tail eye will also be more visible.

Marulioides tend to have kind of vertical black bars across the bottom whereas Marulius has more circular markings.

But the picture you supplied doesn't help at all.
Here is a pic of my Marulius and my marulioides when they were both around 4-5".

Too hard to tell from pic but my guess is that they could be marulius.

How big do they need to be until they start to get markings to tell them apart?

My Striata babies looked just like those in your picture. Not sure if all baby channa look the same when young.
