I have some questions about my polypterus. I have a Delhezi, and Senegal, and a very shy Endlicheri. How do you know whether or not the Endli and Delhezi are WC or CB? Are the Senegal and the Endli male or female?

The Endli refuses to come out when I have my camera, but I'll get a good photo of him eventually.

Thank you!

endli is not positioned well enough to sex it, the sen is a female, and the difference on determining whether they are WC or CB are usually physical traits but there is usually no 100% way to tell. Usually you can tell if they are CB or WC by the store you get them at. So the question is what store did you get them at?

what you need to look at is the anal fin if it is thick and beefy it is a male if it is almost see through (not transparent) or thin it's female

What LFS did you get them from? usually if it's a chain it's from segrest farms or a large wholesaler that will more than likely have CB. IMO unless they tell you they are WC on the label or when they explain it's usually CB (not all the time). The thing you have to be careful of though is if you go to an LFS that doesn't care and just wants a quick buck then they will probably say yes they WC when they are not so try and get the question in there without actually asking if they are WC.

Once the endi get comfortable he will grow fast. He's going to be your big guy. Looks like you have a nice set up for them right now. Might have to clear some decor out of the way as the end get bigger.

My LFS is definitely not a chain, but I think they have a lot of different distributors. I don't really care about CB or WC, but usually when you see a thread asking about Identifications, there are a few comments that do specify WC or CB.

I will hopefully be changing the tank completely when I move! I'm a little worried about his size, but hopefully when the time comes I will have a bigger home.
