I just want to get an official ID on this guy.
I've looked everywhere and I can't find a solid description of how to tell.. with pictures.. is it just that little fin?
To people who have been around these fish for a while, telling a tat from an armatus is like telling a poodle from a German shepherd. They really don't look that similar once you're used to looking at them.
If you haven't done so already, look at the Guide. It has some pictures in it that specifically illustrate the differences in the two.

Thank you! I totally know what you mean.. It was like that when I was IDing Piranhas back when I lived in NJ.
He is about 6". he ate for the first time last night.. I have to break him off feeders..
