I got the same ones at my local Petsmart, those banded ones are Black Convicts, and the others are Flowerhorns, low-grade "Kamfa" from what I have been gathering, and those are likely female. Petsmart stopped carrying a lotstuff like Jaguars, Midas, Red Devil, Green Terror, etc cuz they were too aggressive and got too big and these people SEE plain as day right ON the information chart stuck right to the tank that they grow 8-12" or so and they bring them back to the store after they get big and want to return it, so that's why they stopped carrying them.
Basically screw all the responsible fish keepers with experience and knowledge and space and all the pros out there.
1 jerk screws up and the whole squad has to do push-ups.![]()
Yea I agree but it's not the STORE's fault that people read the fact sheet and ignore it like a retard LOL That's the buyer's fault. How about people taking a little responsibility for their actions? Common sense would say "I have a 20L....that's not big enough for a fish that can grow 16" and weigh 2 lbs". I worked at a specialist pet store and the stuff we had to deal with from customers was appalling. I heard stuff come out of peoples' mouths that made me wonder if they came here on a spaceship from another galaxy.Just as an example in my town the local pet shop always has all of those in stock (minus the flowerhorns) and I'm probably only 1 of 10 ppl in town that has a tank big enough to keep a jag. And probably the only one of the 10 willing to keep one in a tank by itself due to aggressiveness. No one can even give the full grown ones away here.
As long as they special-order and keep customers happy. Ma and Pa shops are NOT doing well these days against corporate....they really have to go the extra mile anymore.Agreed, I've witnessed a lot of moronic pig headed customers that will still do what they want to do. I get that. I still don't think they should be AS plentiful as they are, also for that reason. Also dont give the employees too much credit at places like Petsmart. Some are ok but my local chain store sells GT's as black belts on a regular basis and that is just the tip of the iceberg on their expertise. They really dont care. Yet the seasoned local independent shop won't carry anything that isn't community fish. I have since understood why.
