I'm thinking maybe some sort of bass, but I'm not sure. Help please.

I'm not 100% sure from that pic, but looks like a bluegill to me

looks like a black crappie to me

I catch those all the time to feed to my bass, they either grow up to be bluegills, which if you take out they have a full fin across the back, if it's a crappie, then it'll only be on the back half of the fish, maybe a little bit longer, but you'll see a very clear difference

how you know that it is bluegill? Just give it some time to grow up and it should be answer your question.

Def not a bass but some kind of sunfish or crappie
