ID these oscars RARE????

As stated above. I would not buy them from Walmart, but those fish are found easily enough. Find a quality fish store that you like and if they don't have them they will likely order them for you. Or order online, there a plenty of vendors on here. I recommend TheFishJunky.
no. you cant usually find short bodied fish (like the ones pictured at least) in a lfs. i dont think it's worth ordering for a overpriced deformity that may or may not make it through shipping though...
Personally I think that SB Oscars are a good option for all these people with a 55g who want an Oscar and aren't going to listen to sound advice. In theory, they will produce less waste and be more comfortable in a small tank like a 55g. But that's assuming they are comfortable at all in their short bodies, which we don't know.
I didnt think these guys were readily available thats why I posted this Ive never seen short bodied oscars. thanks guys
