Ok, i went to my lfs a couple a days before and there where 2 sp. of fish they got and they are not sure what species they are.
Well first off this was supposed to be a true pair of Satanoperca Jurupari at 6" for $150 each. I doupt that they are Jurupari i think they are Leucostica.
So are they Leucostica or Jurupari?

Interesting, but I think you got a strange looking Jurupari. The facial markings match; especially around the mouth. However the long snout and sloping forehead throws me off. Maybe he'll grow into it (which is what my mom told me, and it never happened...)

The vieja is a veija fenestrata i used to have one they are slow growing herbivores that become quite aggressive when fed meaty foods

just out of interest where did you get it

I was suspecting its a Fenestratus.

He was shipped from Turkey i think.

wait 150 for a jurupari or a leco? jurupari are cheaper than the leucosticas..so then you would be lucky....but i get 4" for about 20 bucks. and i have true juruparis....dont buy them.

I dont have space for them and i dont want to buy, but this is a confirmed pair.
I just wanted to help my friend (the owner of the lfs) out a little.

Those Satanoperca are deffinately S. leucosticta ...

The actual name is "Satanoperca leucosticta" (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Fish shops call them Jurapari a lot of times but that's not what they are. $150 is a high price for a pair but I guess it depends on where you're at. I've got one just like it, here's mine:
