cheap brown rays from peru i think they are called p: sp or something like that

I've seen these kinds of rays coming in lately a lot. They come in labeled as hystrix, but of course there not hystrix. I wondering why they do that? Are the importers just doing this to try and make more money? Or do they really just not know what they are? So there just like well F-it lets call them hystrix's. Why don't they just call them Sp. Peru or common brown ray?

Anyone know why this is?
I don't know what importers in other states call them but here in CO they try to pass them off as hystix.

agreed. last one motoro?

Last ones not a Motoro. The pic makes it look kind of like one but if you put a real peru one next to it you would see the difference. They have this kind of ray with Motoros here at a LFS and they look nothing alike.

Hello,
those are different P. sp. Peru.
From Peru those are labeled as Histrix or Common Ray.
There are a few different Variants of "sp.Peru" as u can see.
The first one sometimes called "Yepezi" or "Mantilla" by Exporter and the last one
sometimes called "peru flower/sasha ray".
The middle one looks like a mix of both *g*
They are called "sp.Peru" because it is not even sure if they are a own kind, a kind with huge variablity or natural hybrids.

Btw, "just a cheap brown ray" there are some beauties of these too, and every ray has something nice, so I don´t like that to call that "just a blabla" just because of it is not black/white and freaking expensive.
