ID these?

I saw these fish in the carribean. What are they? A genus or family is helpful enough for me to ID it myself. I searched for a bit but didn't find anything.

They were about 30 cm long, maybe 40. Fast swimmers and avoid people in the water. I saw some in the water by a place called "Xcaret." Black tipped tail and whitish, torpedo shaped body. I didn't take the photo, so it might not even be the right kind of fish but it looks very similar.

EDIT: Bermuda chub these guys are.
These fish were about 40 cm, thick bodied and moderately deep. They have light blue lines going across the whole body, which is also blue.
The biggest ones have pale white circular patches going in rows. They have a single dorsal fin and are a shoaling fish. (don't have underwater camera)

Silversides.... I don't think these need to be ID'd.
