ID this beast

hey people!

found this fish on one of my travels.

was about 3' long and was hanging onto the back of a bus

anyone got an ID idea?

looks ancient, has an arowana kind of tail and is quite armoured. tough scales.

I'm not an expert but it looks like a silver arowana to me.

sorry, shouldda stated, was in landlocked central africa!
Gabon to be exact

African arowana. Some species of aros are native there.

looks like a silver aro to me, but since its in africa, i'd guess it a african aro. but i've never seen one that long before.

If it were an african arowana, I believe that the head should have resembled an arapaima gigas. Just my 2 cents worth.
