Well I feel embarrassed that I can't figure out which kind of betta that is. But I'm getting this feeling that it is a wild caught betta. Do you know or not if it is a wild caught betta or not? If you know then can you please tell me because it will help me. But because you didn't post that you knew if it was wild caught or not then I'm assuming you don't know.

I bought it from a shop, the owner said he thought it was a regular female betta, but I knew it was some kind of crazy wild caught male. I haven't been able to find any pics of anything like him on the internet. He's my favorite fish. Sometimes the tips of the fins will be really light blue, almost white, like the color of a powder blue gourami. He was in dark substrate when I got him he was all black/brown, now he's in sand and he's really pale tan.

Wild caught okay but what species?

hmm looks like a albimarginata to me.

can you get a clear shot of the head?

He same thing happened to me at petco I bought a big female and I bring it home an it turns out to be a wild caught female which was like those fighting ones because he killed my 3" crowntail male which I had for one year now and wanted to breed and he killed it and was flashing gills and all crazy attacking his reflection
