Hi all,

Need help to ID this piece.

The aquarium sold me as a WC but I don't know which species it is as I just started out on birchirs.

Faded out lap? But the body and head shape reminds me more of congi

Thanks bro.

How can you tell it is wild caught? I figured the color is a bit more washed out?

I have 2 more Lap, but they don't seems to grow bigger unlike these 2 WC.

Looks Better than my lap mine is still faded after like two years, she darkened up for a bit but is back to washed out. That tangent aside mine is WC.

I read some hobbyist saying that wild caught bichirs finlets shape is different, snout shape is different and eye also got different. A bichir contrast is very much affected by the environment. Eg. A tank background colour and gravel use. But with a proper tank set up must compliment with suitable water condition to see a bichir full potential.
