ok guys i just bought this catfish from my lfs and i dont know what he is, they said his name but it was a long 1 so i forgot lol hes not a hoplo and does look like an upside down catfish but doesnt act like 1, sorry about the blurry pics he was in a fettle with himself, i will try get some still ones later for you guys.

I was going to ask about that. You've got all these monster's lately, and they're all pictured in that tiny round/bow front tank. Where are they all going to live? So far I've seen an RTC, a TSN, a hoplo, at least 1 oscar, what might have been a JD, and now this syno, but you've got them all crammed in that little tank... Is that a Quarantine tank? Can you show us a picture of the tank that they're living in, if that is, in fact, just a holding tank.

Nice pickup btw, I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just curious since you keep buying all these big fish and asking for ID's and info, then putting them in that small looking tank.

lol dont be shy m8 yeah this is just where they go when i 1st get them i have 3 tanks in total 2' quarantine, 4' which is the wifes and has lots of dainty little fish in, 6' with my shoal of rbp, i am going to pick another 4' up on monday for the rtc, hoplo,and syno. as the tsn and cichlids are still babys they will be going back into the quarantine tank but atm they are in a little 45 gallon i will post some pics of that in the relevant forum (if i can find it lol) but no m8 im not that cruel i do have some clue what im doing only im new to catfish oh and im building an indoor pond for these monsters which will be complete in febuary 09. Thanks for your concern though dude:D.................

Glad to hear it. There's certainly nothing wrong with asking questions, and I do my fair share, I guess maybe I've just been working in a pet store too long...

not a problem matey im looking for the tank forum now to post the baby tank lol i wuld put pics here but prob get wrong or warning or something :naughty:
