i think it is a mayan cichlid。but the seller tell me it is a true red terror.
 
See that big spot in front of it's tail, on true red terrors, it takes up the top half, on mayans, it takes up the whole section.
 
How much you pay for it?
 
I had a similar experience awhile back. That is a Mayan. I kept mine after I realized what had happened because I had grown to like the fish anyway; the Mayan really is a great fish to keep in its own right. If you really want a Festae I would suggest finding a real breeder. The number of times these two fish are misidentfied in LFS and chain pet shops is ridiculous.

thanks everyone! i do not buy this cichlid because i want to buy a festae.in china this species is rare,so the price is high.;)
 
Well congrats then! Getting a mistaken fish that still makes you happy is a win win situation!
