ID This Cichlid?

I found him in the jack dempsey tank of my local PetsMart. He was solid black when I saw him, but he now has some barring on the upper half of his body. Not really sure what he is as I'm not too great with IDing young cichlids.

I apologize for the photo quality. The only thing I have is my phone since my real camera died a few months back.

Wow, really? I've never seen one so dark! I've got an ebjd and he's not as rotund as she is, either. She seems rounder than the other jd that were in the tank.
