my flowerhorn was bitten by other fh near tail and it has now become covered with white.Is that fungus or it is just healing way.some scales are also swelling.please ID it and then tell its cure and whether it is male or female.

i do not know what this is actclly but i had the some proble with a texas also. the fish was beat up one and what i thought was a wound turned in to something that started to eat fleash almost down to the spine it was nasty. i ended saving the fish with daily water changes, heat, and epsom salt, melefix. he is almost completly healed

i posted about this type of disease before. it's a strain of columnaris. Columnaris (Flexibacteria), it is not a fungus, it is a gram negative bacteria. It sometimes shows up in it's traditional form as cotton or wool like crap coming out of the fishes wound or around the mouth which is why most misidentify it as a fungus. Other cases are exactly as your texas looks...the flesh is eaten right off to the bone and only continues to get larger until the fish is dead. It also causes symptoms of fin rot and other stuff.
