I got this filter with my 240.

eheim.jpg

I know its an Eheim, but what model is it? The top is around the size of a basketball. The intake tube is 25/34mm.. I believe the first number is the inner diameter and the second is the outer.. The return tube that you can see in the picture that is connected to the top mount pump is 16/22mm.

I would like to find out its flow rate and if parts are still available if it so happens to need it. Also, is it good enough to run my 240 (It was being used as the only filter on the tank for years before I bought it) with a colony of, say, 10 fronts?

The filter works and was running when I first looked at the tank before I bought it.

Thanks for the help!

Mike

Wow a Pressure cooker for a filter :) Or is it a simple tattoo sterilizer for a filter LOL :) Sorry no leads for ya..

Seems my first post didn't go through?

That filter looks SWEET! Have you started her up yet? This would be a great start to a MONSTER filter thread!

When I bought it (got it used with my 240) it was running and it looked real strong. We actually used it to pump out the water from the tank when I went to pick it up. It has that valve at the bottom much like the FX5 where if you open it up, it will shoot the water out of that rather than back into the tank.

Im pretty sure its a pond filter if that helps. I wish Eheim had an archive of their old filters so I can sift through that, but they dont... from what I gathered.

Thanks for the responces... and yeah.. it is a pressure cooker. LOL

Have you emailed eheim with a pic?

No I havent.. Actually I didnt even think of doing that. :duh: Ill email them today. Thanks!

Well.. I went to the Eheim site and clicked on the "Contact Us" button, filled out the form and clicked send.. All that did was refresh the page so I did it again.. refresh.. Anyway, either they got 10 duplicate emails from me this morning or it didnt go through. I guess ill just wait it out.

If I'm not mistaken, it looks like the 2250 missing the top cover- http://www.cloudytanks.com/reviews/canisters/2250.html
Since you say it's only the diameter of a basketball. I believe the 2260 is like a small garbage can.
I'm sure a 2250/60 owner will validate/negate my claim... ;)

That looks like it, but mine I believe is a little taller than that. Both the 50 and 60 have a diameter of 12" but the 50 is 16" tall and the 60 is like 23". Mine for sure is not 16" tall.

I think we have a match!

THANKS!!
