ID this fish from 2011 ACA

I ran across this photo in a group of discus pics from the 2011 ACA. Any idea what this could be? It wasn't labeled but it looks like some type of CA cichlid to me. Thoughts?

Just an FYI
Regani prefer to hide much of the time, and when not hiding, will try to kill everything they can in your tank, including each other.
I believe they prefer a strong current, which may temper their aggressiveness, and my 1200 gph pump/flow didn't do it.
I have had a bunch over the years, and all have had that temperament once they reach about 5+ inches.
I gave a 6"one to a friend that killed his much larger 12" red devils and 8" carpintus in a 220 gal.
They may work alone in a 125, but be careful with other fish.

I think they need a 300gal+ aquarium to be housed with other fish in most cases.
