^^ I was going to say this but then i saw the spine coming off the dorsal fin, none of the shad ive caught near me have that but look similar in body shape w/ out the reddish fins... these would look cool in a large native tank.

Ughh kept catching these in my cast net but had no clue what they are they seemed cool mabey tank worthy but I guess they are worthless, back to catching plecos lol.

The only way I would keep them is if I had a big 500g + tank that I could have a lot of them in... seems like the only way they would look good IMO.

Yep threadfin shad....quite possibly the most famous baitfish in the south lol. They are notoriously difficult to keep in captivity. one of the reasons is because they must be in a round container otherwise they will get stuck in a corner and die.

My ichthyology class served me well. Got that one right immediately.

I know one person who has been able to keep them alive. He threw two of them into a neglected 30 gallon fish tank and they have been alive for months.

They are cool to watch because they are highly active.

Is it bad that I kinda laughed when you said that lol I mean I have heard of some dumb fish, but getting stuck in a corner and dieing lol but no fish deserves to die, thanks for your opinion!
