ID this fish please

Can somebody ID these fish please? Sorry for the blurred pictures. The are about 5"-6" in size. this is the best I could do with the camera phone. Even the LFS doesn't know what they are.

They look like small payara but I could be way off...EDIT: I think a vampire tetra, aka vampire characin, but once again, I may be wayyyy off. Do they look like this?
