I'd this fish please

I have heard this is a red devil. But mine look nothing like that. Also was suggested mayb a red bay snook. Does anyone realy know? My niece caught it in Hawaii.

Nice looking fish, very pretty. Looks like a cichlid to me, but I can't really help beyond that.

its a red devil no doubt as there's no known breeding population of midas in Hawaii but plenty of red devils.

Well, not that this is set in stone, but according to the U.S. Geological Survey midas cichlids have been documented in Hawaii since 1991. Longer than red devils.

Its clearly that its a red devil. Also red devils are much common and plentiful where midas are uncommon and rare in Hawaii. Its already set in the stone.
